A rectangular celebration cake for the Sunshine Coast Lions Club’s 60th anniversary. The cake features a detailed illustration of a lion with a golden mane, standing confidently in the center. The words 'Sunshine Coast Lions Club' are written in blue icing at the top, and '60 Years of Service' is elegantly scripted in purple icing at the bottom. The cake is decorated with white frosting borders and sits on a silver cake board.
We celebrated our 60th anniversary in 2024.

The Sunshine Coast Lions Club Tailgate Sales starts up again on Sunday, April 6th at the Trail Bay Mall. It operates every other Sunday until September 21st. It opens at 8:00am and runs until 3:00pm with vendor setup beginning at 7:00am.

The cost is $15.00 for 2 parking stalls with any additional stalls costing $5.00 each. The sale is on a ‘First Come First Serve’ basis …. no reservations… and bring your own tables!

The event is always ‘weather permitting’ so check our Lions Facebook page or our website at www.sclionsclub.com for up to the minute information on the sale’s status for those questionable weather-related days!

We look forward once again to seeing all the returning vendors… plus any new ones… in addition to all the regular & first time shoppers who make it a fun shopping experience! It’s a great event so be sure to come by and check out all the bargains and treasures waiting to be found by you!

I’d like to share a heartwarming story about the Sunshine Coast Lions Club’s generous support of early childhood literacy. Their recent donation to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library is helping young children across the Sunshine Coast receive free books in the mail each month, fostering a love of reading from an early age.

Research shows that children need approximately 1,000 hours of being read to in order to develop essential pre-reading skills. Thanks to the Lions Club’s contribution, more local families will have access to high-quality books, strengthening literacy development, family connections, and lifelong learning.

Since launching the program, we have been able to send out more than 60,000 books to Sunshine Coast children! As the longest-running Dolly Parton Imagination Library affiliate in Canada, our School District is proud to partner with the Lions Club in this vital initiative.

I’ve attached a photo of the Lions Club presenting the cheques for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
